Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in the Upper Peninsula, my artwork draws from my surroundings, be it the Great Lakes, my family and friends or found objects that I come across on my travels.  When researching for the theatre, I draw upon the familiar; a diner in my hometown, cave mud I’ve crawled through or the water that laps at my toes.  All of my work has some sort of personalized touch and without that, it wouldn’t be mine.

The creation of objects and art through stories has always been important in my life.  Family history is traditionally passed from generation to generation by storytelling; my art process is an elaboration of this.
